According to Cambodian trademark law, multi-class applications are possible, which means an application may cover up to 45 classes of good or services. The good and/or serviecs under the applications must be classified according to the International Classification of Goods and services under the Nice agreement.
For a multiclass application, the applicant must pay class fees on a perclass basis, and there is no discount for any extra class in one application.
Multiple – class trademark applications has may benefits such as:
- Saving registration number resource;
- Reducing examination workload;
- Facilitating trademark search;
- Simplifying administrative tasks.
However, multiple – class also has a drawback is if the description of goods in one class is being not acceptable, the process of entire application will be cancelled for future examination.
